At R2S we aim to re-integrate the student back into school with as minimal disruption as possible. We will help schools and providers with flexible and quick respite placements from school to cater to their needs.
Refers to longer-term planning for a child or young person’s reintegration back into school or other suitable full time or part-time education other than at school.
Ensuring access to suitable education for these children is so important. The young persons circumstances can cause them to be out of school for a long period. Finding alternative education can promote continuity, minimising disruption to their education during periods out of school.
Providing suitable education which is relevant and meaningful to these young people can enhance their life chances and give them access to the curriculum.

How many pupils are in Alternative Provision?
Research by the BBC has revealed that the number of fixed-term exclusions in the most deprived areas of England has gone up by over 70% in the last four years – four times the rate of the least deprived, which has risen by 15%.
Nearly 50,000 pupils are now taught in alternative provision – schools which provide education for pupils outside of mainstream education, who have behaviour issues or short or long-term illness.
