Who is R2S?

R2S (Road to Success Ltd) was set up as a Pre-16 vocational training centre 13 years ago. It was intended to allow pupils to access more vocational progression paths, that have previously been available to school-age children.

We are very much aware that within education ‘one size’ does not fit all for a variety of different reasons. These can include challenges within the school itself, home life, peer groups or other educational factors. R2S helps those learners that cannot cope within mainstream schooling environments and want to learn more hands and practical skills whilst still undertaking their core G.C.S.E’s subjects.

The need and interest within this provision is increasing year upon year as is the reputation of R2S as an alternative education provider. Now operating over three sites and three neighbouring boroughs Local Authorities are very aware of the quality provision that R2S offers, with requests to replicate this within their boroughs.

Road 2 Success is utilised by many local authorities and schools within Sutton, Merton, Croydon, Wandsworth and Surrey. We offer a comprehensive service that ensures learners attendance, attainment, enjoyment and retention.

This offers a personalised approach to developing effective work-ready skills for all learners. The learning offered will continue to be fun and in an interactive environment which will give all learners the opportunity to achieve their best possible outcome. R2S will give confidence to the learners to engage in the process of learning and achieving.

The Franchise Provision

So many people think of starting their own business – not just for the financial rewards but for the opportunity to be your own boss and run your own life. But the downside is that although you get all the rewards, you also take the risks. Taking on a franchise within a proven operation reduces those risks substantially. By joining R2S, you can reduce them even more!

We can action a referral within hours to ensure learners are picked up quickly and their needs are met immediately, providing a smooth and continuous transition into our organisation that won’t disrupt their lives or their education.

We offer placement on a daily, weekly, full academic term or year, or just to provide valuable respite as and when required.

Staff are allocated tutor groups for whom they are responsible for. This includes undertaking formal and informal reviews with learners to ensure that they are achieving and understanding any challenges or obstacles that the learner may face whether these are educational or personal.

Each learner receives Information Advice and Guidance sessions at regular intervals as part of the individualised training programme. Support is on-going and continues even when the learner has come to the end of the core programme. We will continue to offer further advice and guidance/additional support as long as our young people require it.

Our Pre-16 provision is a bespoke training package that accommodates both the referring agencies needs and the needs of the learners, which can often be unique and complex.

Being excluded or suspended from schools can be a stressful experience for everyone concerned, and we’re here to make things as easy as possible.

Our programmes are supported and delivered via our team of qualified personnel. Our staff team all have relevant qualifications particular to their area of expertise.

We will aim to support the learners either into further learning or into employment with training attached.

Alternative Education R2S

Personal and Social Development

All learners will undertake sessions that encompass citizenship and issues that are important to them and their life. We will continue to aid and support our learners with motivation, confidence and self-esteem.

Issues that are discussed include Racism, domestic violence, bullying, drugs and alcohol, gang violence, health and fitness, and the importance of eating a healthy and balanced diet. Personal social development will have Functional Skills accreditation which will run alongside the existing AQA’s and will add weight to records of achievement that are vital for college applications.

Learners will also benefit from the enrichment programme that is run, this includes educational visits to museums, rewards of bowling, camping and a football league.

Individualised learning plans

All learners will undertake an initial assessment. This will help determine the level of the learners and where to pitch their work. With a fully completed referral form, this will enable the construction of a living document/personalised learning plan. The learner will then revisit their goals set via a review with their tutor. Alternative Education and parents/guardians will be asked to take part in the review process if the learner wishes.

College Applications – R2S will continue to ensure that all year 11 learners will have a college placement or an option made available to them post 16. R2S have very strong relationships with all local colleges and will arrange college visits for learners and accompany learners to interviews where necessary.

Business Support

As a Franchisee, you will receive valuable, ongoing business support, including site selection, training, marketing, new technology and more. You buy the right to develop your business in a defined geographical area, with a guarantee from R2S of no R2S competitor in that area. Franchisees can offer their Clients the full breadth of R2S expertise, all supported by the full span of our capabilities.

We ensure that you are well equipped to start and grow your business. Training, ongoing business support and a wide range of resources are available when you become the R2S Franchisee in your area. You will be given step by step support with set up, staff training, quality assurance, delivery, understanding of qualifications, registration of qualifications and recruitment of learners via referring agencies and schools.

Curriculum leads and teaching will visit and train staff to ensure the provision is of the highest standard. Quality assurance visits will take place termly to policies and procedures are fully met and address any challenges that the site may have.

There will be a named contact for the Franchisee to discuss any issues regarding the day to day running of the site, this includes safeguarding queries or the reporting of serious incidents.
